Born in 1982, producing public art since 1997, he has photography as his main base. Currently he calls what he makes of “expanded photography”. Both for the hyperdimension of the images and for the search for new possibilities of the photographic language such as photochemical processes, a deconstruction of visuality and transfers.

 

Since 2007, he has created urban intervention murals using a hybrid technique of collage and painting, confronting the realism intrinsic to photography and the organic capacity of gesture painting. His works discuss contemporary ways of life, through ethnographic research, original manifestations, urban experience,  culture/nature, the obstacles of human relationship with the control devices and power structures and feeds the various forms of decolonial resistance , mainly in the Africa - Latin America axis.

He developed street work in São Paulo, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Sergipe, Paraná and Minas Gerais. In 2017 he held two artistic residencies and several murals in projects in the USA (New York and Navajo Nation-Arizona). In 2018, he spent two months in residence in Mexico City. In 2019 he held a solo exhibition in Lisbon, as well as murals (again) in Mexico and the USA.

His work is always related to the public space, preferably having free and spontaneous access to those who travel in the cities. However, it does not exclude participation in exhibitions in cultural spaces in which it rubs in order to fuse other artistic languages, such as cinema, music, the body.

 

As an art educator, he has taught art history, photography, urban intervention, collage, sound art and language integration workshops. Participates in theatrical performances in the creation of live soundtracks and scenography.
